    An architectural jewel in the heart of Luxembourg city

    It’s more than an architectural jewel... the Royal Hamilius has become a veritable treasure trove for the winners of the consultation organised in 2010 by Paul Helminger, mayor of Luxembourg City. The victors of the Royal-Hamilius competition include Codic International as investor-developer, Jones Lang LaSalle as retail operator, British architects Foster and Partners and the Luxembourg architectural practice Tetra Kayser Paul et associés.

    This unique place, which mixes modern and classic styles, includes offices, shops, housing, parking, and restaurants.

    Designed as a gateway to the city’s historic district, the development of the central block of Luxembourg City was an ambitious project. The objective was to build upon the existing urban identity of Luxembourg while capturing its diversity in terms of space. Its design aims to increase urban permeability by transforming rue Aldringen into a pedestrian shopping street and offering several routes through the site to the heart of the city. At the end of the Grand Rue, at the intersection with the Boulevard Royal, the prestigious main building is dedicated to the famous Galeries Lafayette department store covering 9,000 square metres. The icing on the cake is the SixSeven, which (at long last!) occupies the top two floors of this exceptional building, with a public garden on the roof offering panoramic views of the city, a sight which is unrivalled in the capital.

    Owner of sixseven

    Renowned for being an accomplished entrepreneur, Henry Hassid embraces his passions with voracious enthusiasm. Whether business or sport, this man of action with a thousand and one lives, collects awards as well as “slightly crazy" projects, as he likes to describe them.

    A PRO-AM race car driver since 2000 and accustomed to a place on the podium for Porsche, Ferrari, and Audi, it is not uncommon to see him post results that match those of his professional team-mates.

    But what about his business background? Believe it or not, he is an industrial pharmacist and the founder and chairman of H2 Pharma. Immediately after he graduated from university, he bought an ageing pharmaceutical factory for a symbolic amount of one French franc in 1984. Owing to his perseverance and a few bold gambles, he has propelled the company to the rank of European leader thanks to its outperformance in the field of innovation. More specifically, in the development of liquid generics, but also because of his objective to completely automate its production lines. Now, the factory in Ile-de-France boasts a level of productivity which is unrivalled in Western Europe.

    Having already taken the helm of one of the most highly regarded establishments in Versailles in 2019 - the "Bleue Blanche Rouge" restaurant - this perfectionist/workaholic who collects superlatives, embraced a new challenge in March 2021 when the highly regarded Manko restaurant abandoned the SkyRestaurant project on the rooftop of the Royal Hamilius, during the global health crisis.

    Backed by his financial strength and unequalled tenacity, Henry Hassid has earmarked several million dollars for this major project. Easily approachable, he is a rare breed - a passionate and captivating boss who is at ease in all surroundings: from dusty building sites to social gatherings, from science to gastronomy, and he exudes pragmatism which he advocates without respite.

    Ierace Dechmann + Partners, creator of a unique identity

    Just like the view, the SixSeven Rooftop logo stuns!

    Perched at the top of Royal-Hamilius, and more precisely on the 6th and 7th floors, the double restaurant SixSeven entrusted the agency Ierace Dechmann + Partners with the name and image creations of this unique establishment.

    From the name search to the logo design, IDP agency’s creatives imagined a visual universe as singular as this unique place in Luxembourg. The result? A number 6 and a 7 intelligently intertwined to build a logo levitating above its name, with a disconcerting obviousness: SIXSEVEN

    Selected after a competition between several agencies, IDP agency was given free rein to create this corporate identity. Resolutely cosmopolitan, combining conviviality and exclusivity, this unique brand image can be seen on all media: from the website to social networks. And even on the windows! Go and see for yourself, corner Grand Rue/Boulevard Royal...

    With total trust between the agency and the project management, the result was worthy of the human and financial investments made.

    "I have enjoyed many wonderful encounters throughout my career...

    First, my apprenticeship in the restaurant, ’Aux Trois Caravelles’, on the banks of the river Oise in the Paris region. At the age of 16, I already knew that I would dedicate my life to gastronomy! With a professional baccalaureate under my belt, I developed an intense passion for exquisite cuisine, the true and authentic cuisine, the one I love, and the one that people love.

    ’Résidence Maxim’s’, with its mythical setting on the rue Royale is a restaurant devoted to exquisite feasts, not forgetting the prestigious events, especially during fashion week. Owned by Pierre Cardin, it embodied the art of French living. Then ’Le Clos Longchamp’ alongside Jean-Marie Meulien, a chef with two Michelin stars who once shared a little phrase with me that I will never forget: there is no noble product, the nobility of a product is fostered by the interest that one brings to it. ’Les frères Blanc’ and their numerous great Parisian brasseries. That’s where I learned that to be a good cook, you have to be close to your customers.

    I like that! Forging a relationship with my customers.

    In 2011, I became a Director in Versailles. With my wealth of experience as a chef, today my job is to cultivate the alchemy between a team, a kitchen, a place and its customers.

    If tastes and colours are not open to discussion, one thing however is certain, I will try to make you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life during your gourmet experience at SixSeven.

    Quality is at the core of SixSeven’s values. As such, it is quite natural that our commitment for quality in the kitchen is one of our top priorities. An in-house tasting committee meets monthly to select the best local products to feature on our menus. We guarantee fresh produce and respect seasonality.

    Whenever it’s possible, the SixSeven will offer products from the Marque Nationale label. These are high-quality products of Luxembourg origin and sourced from the local region. Moreover, animal welfare is respected and product traceability is fully transparent.

    At the SixSeven, we are proud to serve products that are made in Luxembourg, such as our best AOP sparkling wine from the Luxembourg Moselle, available on the menu of the SIX and the SEVEN: La Cuvée SixSeven 1921 by Bernard-Massard. Three years in the making, this sparkling wine celebrates its centennial and will be perfect for your next afterwork party! Or do you prefer a local beer? No problem, that’s also on the menu...     CHEF EXECUTIVE OF SIXSEVEN

    Upon his return to Luxembourg, this young Italian starred chef took over the reins of not one but two kitchens: both restaurants of the SixSeven, where he will showcase his resolutely contemporary vision of cuisine.

    Graduated from the Armando Perotti Culinary Institute, he has never stopped searching for excellence in the four corners of the world. Following his beginnings in Venice, alongside chef Antonio Bufi, he earned his stripes in Italy and Spain, always seeking out the quintessence of culinary expertise, and sharing the limelight with the leading lights, such as Moreno Cedroni ("La Madonnina del Pescatore", two Michelin stars), Pierluigi di Diego ("Il Don Giovanni", one Michelin star), Enrico Crippa ("Piazza Duomo", three Michelin stars) and Joan Roca ("El Celler de Can Roca", three Michelin stars and voted “the World’s Best Restaurant”).

    In 2012, he arrived in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and invested his time and energy in the culinary adventures of the "Mosconi" (one Michelin star) for six years as sous chef under Ilario Mosconi.

    Then, Asia came calling... He was appointed Chef of the new "LaBrezza Restaurant" at the St. Regis Hotel in China and it was awarded the title of "Best Italian Restaurant in Southern China" in 2019. Later, he managed the opening of the St. Regis Hotel in Hong Kong.

    The Michelin Guide awarded him the "Michelin Plate" when he took over the restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton in Guangzhou. He was rewarded with his first Michelin star as chef of the Restaurant "8 1/2 Otto e mezzo Bombana” in Macau.

    Michele Tenzone is an exceptional talent who seduces epicureans with colourful dishes brimming with flavours. He meticulously masters food preparation and creates breathtaking combinations that pay tribute to his peers.

    Quality is at the core of SixSeven’s values. As such, it is quite natural that our commitment for quality in the kitchen is one of our top priorities. An in-house tasting committee meets monthly to select the best local products to feature on our menus. We guarantee fresh produce and respect seasonality.

    Whenever it’s possible, the SixSeven will offer products from the Marque Nationale label. These are high-quality products of Luxembourg origin and sourced from the local region. Moreover, animal welfare is respected and product traceability is fully transparent.

    At the SixSeven, we are proud to serve products that are made in Luxembourg, such as our best AOP sparkling wine from the Luxembourg Moselle, available on the menu of the SIX and the SEVEN: La Cuvée SixSeven 1921 by Bernard-Massard. Three years in the making, this sparkling wine celebrates its centennial and will be perfect for your next afterwork party! Or do you prefer a local beer? No problem, that’s also on the menu... The SixSeven team is looking forward to showing you their selection.

    CHEF EXECUTIVE OF SIXSEVEN

    Upon his return to Luxembourg, this young Italian starred chef took over the reins of not one but two kitchens: both restaurants of the SixSeven, where he will showcase his resolutely contemporary vision of cuisine.

    Graduated from the Armando Perotti Culinary Institute, he has never stopped searching for excellence in the four corners of the world. Following his beginnings in Venice, alongside chef Antonio Bufi, he earned his stripes in Italy and Spain, always seeking out the quintessence of culinary expertise, and sharing the limelight with the leading lights, such as Moreno Cedroni ("La Madonnina del Pescatore", two Michelin stars), Pierluigi di Diego ("Il Don Giovanni", one Michelin star), Enrico Crippa ("Piazza Duomo", three Michelin stars) and Joan Roca ("El Celler de Can Roca", three Michelin stars and voted “the World’s Best Restaurant”).

    In 2012, he arrived in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and invested his time and energy in the culinary adventures of the "Mosconi" (one Michelin star) for six years as sous chef under Ilario Mosconi.

    Then, Asia came calling... He was appointed Chef of the new "LaBrezza Restaurant" at the St. Regis Hotel in China and it was awarded the title of "Best Italian Restaurant in Southern China" in 2019. Later, he managed the opening of the St. Regis Hotel in Hong Kong.

    The Michelin Guide awarded him the "Michelin Plate" when he took over the restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton in Guangzhou. He was rewarded with his first Michelin star as chef of the Restaurant "8 1/2 Otto e mezzo Bombana” in Macau.

    Michele Tenzone is an exceptional talent who seduces epicureans with colourful dishes brimming with flavours. He meticulously masters food preparation and creates breathtaking combinations that pay tribute to his peers.

    In next to no time, school children across the country will be returning to school for a new academic year. At the SixSeven, we are also finalising our preparations to open our doors for the first time... As the big day approaches, a sense of anxiety and excitement takes hold as we prepare to uncover this exceptional location in Luxembourg city. This year, it’s not "back to school" but rather a "back to the restaurant" ;)
